We try to live a life in which we regret what is not, do not like what is, imagine the way it should be, and then get disappointed. We do not look at how we can change what happened afterwards or what other way is there to do this.
We cannot look consciously at what we have not done, nor at what we cannot do. I looked up the meaning of flexibility on the internet; it’s definition: ‘Elasticity is the change in the shape of an object when a force is applied to it, and the object returning to its original state when the force is removed.’
I thought about what I would call flexibility if I were to define it; I would define it as opening, extensibility, fluidity, elegance within limits, delicacy, and the ability to change shape and change shape within all these actions. At the end of the actions, I would call it the state of being able to decide where I want to stay and exist. I would describe it as a well-deserved and consciously achieved state.
I call yoga the field in which I try to go beyond the limits of my own body with grace, patience and slowness. Enjoying the details in both my movements and actions, developing patience, welcoming deep thought… By slowing down and stretching, we can connect with ourselves and others. We are encouraged to introspection, creativity, and understanding the foundations of our being. As we stretch, we can flow within the treasures of the moment, an oasis of calm in which we slowly and consciously grasp our body and soul and swim in it.
Put on some music and choose it meticulously, when you feel it in every limb and joint of your body, let your body stretch with the music. See how you will feel. My soundtrack this morning is Zamdane’s Solsad album, find yours.
Let it be a day when you discover your music… Namaste!
